OUR
CHURCH IN THE COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD
People at Zion United Church of Christ are excited about living out
their faith in the world. Whether it’s helping staff the Union
food pantry or building houses for disadvantaged families with Habitat
For Humanity, Zion folk are actively serving in the community. We
provide a house for Head Start and we have a preschool for three and
four-year-olds, as well as providing space for tutoring as administered
by CASA and the Retired Teacher’s Association. Many groups from
the community, such as AA, Al-Anon, and Overeaters Anonymous, use
our space as well. The Three-Fold Cord Community Theatre got its start
at Zion UCC as did the Franklin County Habitat For Humanity. A group
of our folks have an Outreach Ministry that brings opportunities for
giving and serving in the community and the world to the attention
of the congregation. We believe that faith is not something that happens
only inside the four walls of a church building. We follow Christ
through the doors and out into the world.
